In a letter dated February 2, 1883, Gerhardt wrote Clemens he was beginning work on this medallion. On February 25, he wrote the Warner medallion was complete.

Twain medallion

In a letter dated March 23, 1883, Gerhardt wrote Clemens that he had completed another medallion of Clemens. This medallion is owned by the Mark Twain Library in
Redding, CT.

Olivia Langdon

Olivia Langdon, mother-in-law of Samuel Clemens.

May 7, 1883, Gerhardt wrote a letter mentioning his work on a medallion of Mrs. Langdon.

Two years later on June 5, 1885, Clemens asked Gerhardt to make another copy of Mrs. Langdon's medallion for his wife Olivia.

 Millie Fewsmith

Millie Fewsmith. Enclosed in a letter from Karl Gerhardt to Samuel and Olivia Clemens dated July 15 1883. Mr. Fewsmith had been a classmate of Clemens' friend Joseph Twichell. The Fewsmiths befriended the Gerhardts while they were living in Paris.

Olivia Gerhardt born March 7, 1883. Photo enclosed in a letter from Karl Gerhardt to Samuel and Olivia Clemens dated July 15, 1883. On August 6, 1883, Harriet Josephine Gerhardt wrote the Clemens that their daughter looked much like the bust her father had made.
