Francois Jouffroy (1806-1882) was one of Gerhardt's teachers in Paris. This sculpture shows up in a photograph of Susy Clemens and her friends in costume for her Greek play, "The Triumph of Music." It is possible the same work that has been later identified as "Mercury." |
