The San Francisco Daily Morning Call, July 30, 1864

POLICE COURT. - During the past two or three days Judge Shepheard's Court has grown "smaller by degrees and beautifully less" and is still on the wane. With the exception of a rape case, which proved to be a ra-pee, and a very petty larceny case, which also failed, yesterday's session was hardly worth speaking of. Seven innocent drunks, one misdemeanor, six assault and batteries, one petit larceny, one treasonable talker, and one for an offence not specified, constituted the calendar. None of the cases could possibly assume the slightest air of importance.
