CAVING IN. - In many places, the wharves along the city front are caving
in gradually, but very surely. The old Nelson Restaurant, and the three or four
buildings alongside, are canted out of the perpendicular, like a swell's bat,
and the crazy stilts that still make a show of holding them up promise to throw
up the contract shortly. A considerable section of the wharf in front of these
houses has already gone in.
