The San Francisco Daily Morning Call, July 15, 1864

DISPOSED OF. - It is fair to suppose that Eliza Jane Birmingham and Mary Meyers were disposed of permanently yesterday, at last. It will not do to be too confident about it, though. The Court records and the newspapers have been making them travel backward and forward for a week past, between all the asylums and hospitals in the state - and weary enough they looked before they ever shook the dust of the city prison off their feet. But yesterday, according to the County Clerk's records, Eliza Jane Birmingham was examined at the instance of James Kelly, found to be insane, and ordered to the asylum at Stockton and according to the records of the city prison, Mary Meyers was ordered to the County Hospital.
