MARK TWAIN'S CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE KEOKUK POST
The Thomas Jefferson Snodgrass Letters

which he received a minimum payment of $5.00 each. Clemens signed his contributions
"Thomas Jefferson Snodgrass." The letters are significant in that
they represent one of Clemens' earliest attempts at a writing in a vernacular
voice.
